Today’s Vlog : A Walk in A Cape Cod Winter Garden

Today's blog post takes you on a serene journey through the Woodland at my mother-in-law's property. Join me as I walk with my husband and sister-in-law to capture the beauty of this peaceful retreat in this week's postcard Vlog.

A Tour of the Cottage

Let's begin our exploration by admiring the front of the cottage, designed after a 1700's full Cape architecture. The distinctive features include a center door flanked by windows on either side, mirroring the traditional full Cape style. Noteworthy is the chimney, painted white with a black stripe, representing a historical nod to pre-USA traditions.

Strolling Through the Property

As we roam around the property, we encounter remnants of Christmas trees planted in previous years, now towering as beautiful additions to the landscape. The path leads us to a former vegetable garden area, now transformed by the growth of majestic trees. Stone walls and quaint corners offer glimpses of the property's rich history and evolving landscape.

Embracing Nature by the Pond

Our walk brings us to the freshwater pond, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil waters. Stone walls and a floating dock add to the charm of the scenery, inviting a moment of peaceful contemplation. Despite the changing weather forecasts, today's warmth contrasts with the imminent snowfall, creating a unique blend of seasonal transitions.

Cherishing Simple Joys

Amidst the natural beauty, the presence of moss-covered lawns and picturesque cottages evoke a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for simplicity. Exploring the vicarage and neighboring cottages adds a touch of community charm to the tranquil setting.

Enjoying the Moment

As we conclude our nature visit, I encourage you to embrace the present moment and find joy in the beauty that surrounds you. Whether basking in warm weather or preparing for an impending storm, taking time to connect with nature can be a rejuvenating experience.

Conclusion

Thank you for joining me on this virtual tour of Mom's Woodland Cottage. I hope this glimpse into our nature walk inspires you to seek moments of tranquility and beauty in your surroundings. Stay tuned for more nature adventures and remember to stay creative and cherish the simple joys of life. Cheers to embracing the beauty of nature, wherever you may be.
